OVERVIEW
JEE Advanced Entrance exam is a national academic examination conducted every year by the National Testing Agency. It is the second phase of JEE or Joint Entrance Exam. Earlier it is known as IIT-JEE (Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination) and is responsible for providing admission in IITs. This exam is conducted under the observance of major seven zonal IITs and the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The IITs are: (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati).
Instead of above-given institutes, some universities consider marks of Advanced Exam for admissions like the Indian Institute of Science, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs). If the student is already in IIT, then he/she is not eligible for the next JEE Advanced, but if the student is in universities like IISc, IISER, and other institutes then they can apply for the JEE Advanced once again. One of the IITs is responsible for the exam to be conducted in an appropriate way.
THE EXAMINATION
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2020 [JEE (Advanced) 2020] will be conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating (ZC) IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2020. The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs.
