The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main has been conducted by the NTA since 2019. Till 2018, this examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through the Central Seat Allocation Board, subject to the condition that the candidate must have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced (JEE-Advanced), formerly the Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), is an academic examination held annually in India. It is conducted jointly by seven zonal IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(English: Young Scientist Incentive Plan) (KVPY) is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic sciences. It offers scholarship and contingency grants up to the pre-Ph.D. level to selected students.
